Having been diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis by my local NHS hospital, and put on a long waiting-list, my sciatic pain had worsened so much that I couldn't wait for treatment any longer. That's when I decided to go private. The Nuffield in Exeter is a specialist orthopaedic centre, and I chose Mr Budd as my surgeon. What a wise choice! From the first, he was attentive, listening to my queries and he explained the procedure clearly and concisely. I was totally confident that I could trust his expertise and judgement. My spinal decompression operation took place in mid-March and, within a day, it was clear that it had been successful. My sciatica has vanished, and I am making a good recovery. I can heartily recommend Mr Budd to other patients in a similar circumstance.

Mr Budd listened to me in the first instance, and didn't try to belittle my symptoms. He was quick to diagnose my disc protrusion and carried out very successful surgery.

Had a spinal fusion in my lower back about a year ago. I was given a 70% chance of being 70% better. Don't have any severe pain, no medication and lead a normal life now.Although I been informed it takes 1 to 2 years to complete the healing process. Eternally grateful to Mr Budd for giving me a new lease of life. Highly recommended and a big thank you from me!
